SHARE THIS POST:

Science experiments are an excellent way to foster curiosity, exploration, and a love for learning in preschoolers. Steve Spangler, a renowned science educator, has created numerous captivating experiments that are both educational and entertaining.

One of his most popular creations is GAK, a gooey and stretchy substance that can be made at home using simple ingredients. In this article, we will explore Steve Spangler’s GAK recipe and guide you through the steps to create this exciting preschool science experiment. Get ready for some slimy, squishy, and sensational fun!

We love Steve Spangler’s GAK in our home. Seriously the coolest DIY slime out there.

Give it a go.

Integrate Science learning by including your children in the making process. With my preschooler we talked about the ingredients and how they combine to create a new material, a polymer. That is pretty much where it stopped for us. The great thing about Steve Spangler’s experiments is that you can get as intricate in the scientific details as you want depending on the (age of) the child.

What is the deal with GAK?

Here are a few things we do with our GAK:

Let it sit on the side of a table and slowly but surely “drip” down to the floor in a string, very cool fashion.

Bury cars, trees, animals, trains and track on our train table as though a giant slim monster attack the lonely town

Steve Spangler’s GAK recipe provides an engaging and sensory-filled preschool science experiment that sparks curiosity and delight. By creating this stretchy and squishy substance, children explore scientific concepts such as material properties and chemical reactions in a hands-on and playful way.

The GAK experiment stimulates the senses, promotes fine motor skills, and encourages scientific exploration. So, gather the materials, follow the simple steps, and prepare for a slimy and sensational adventure that will captivate and educate young scientists. Get ready to have a GAK-tastic time!
