I am trying to make an effort to plan our weekly routine at home. My goal is to also follow up with notes on what actually occurred during the day. Here is a glimpse:
Monday
7-8am: Breakfast & Books
8am: Get Dressed & Brush Teeth {didn’t happen until after snack}
8:45am: Circle {actual > 8:30am)
Morning song: Frere Jacques (“Stand up J, Stand Up J. Turn around. Do a little clap, clap. Do a little clap, clap. Then sit down.”)
Boys song request: Mr. Golden Sun
ABC Yoga Cards {J was super into these cards. We did 12 poses!!}
Calendar & Calendar Song
Early Literacy: 5 Little Pilgrims felt board story set from Etsy Shop {didn’t do}
Geography: Introduce Continent Song {listened to both universe & continent songs from Montessori Minutes several times as requested by BOTH boys. I used the nesting boxes as a prop for the universe song and my Montessori continent map for the continent song)
World Map Introduction with Continent Identification using Continent Song and large laminated traditional Montessori World Continent Map followed by 3 period lesson on 7 continents
Place one animal onto each continent {we matched more than one!)
Mandarin Review {read the counting book and looked very briefly at the Lift the Flap “My House” book)
Gratitude Soup {book} {We read Safari So Good and J pulled out animals and placed them onto Africa as we read about them}
9:45am: Snack {10am after playing for a bit. I wanted J to prepare carrots for us but we ran out of time before having to go to Mandarin class. So we had fig newtons.}
You can’t really plan for any day 100%. For me, I need to dive in and practice our day’s flow. I feel very green but confident that this path is the right one for our family.
Thanks for visiting!
