Welcome to the start of a new school year! I have been busy preparing the classroom with my lead teacher. So far, I feel reasonably confident but I still have a lot of questions. These questions alas can’t be answered until I start meeting parents and getting to know the children. I figure many parents will have questions about Montessori generally and how to integrate Montessori philosophy and living into their home with their children. Please see my post on Montessori Books for Parents for an extension list of literature. Montessori does not stop at classroom walls. Montessori extends far beyond the classroom into homes and the “real world”. Here are a few suggestions for parents:
Montessori Gifts for Montessori Parents
The Tao of Montessori: Reflections on Compassionate Teaching
The Director of my school opened the school year with employees reading a passage from this book. I kept thinking “if only the parents could hear and be inspired by these words.”

A simple, beautiful book written by one of my favorite Montessori authors, Aline Wolf.
