Themed Montessori Practical Life Shelves

This post may contain affiliate links. See my disclosure .

The number one thing I love about Practical Life is how inexpensive you can achieve the goal. Even if you are purchasing from a company like Montessori Services or Montessori Outlet, you can get great Practical Life sets. However, you can also rummage around your home and local thrift stores to find some wonderful options for Practical Life works.

Here are examples of a few Practical Life trays I’ve placed on our shelves over time (my disclaimer is that several of these trays were presented before I had proper Montessori training. So just remember left to right transfer and isolation of quality, so same color, same object to transfer, etc):

lemonsqueezing e

acrontransfer

jellybeantransfer

ricepouring

corktransfer

applefallcrafts e

valentinetransfer

nutsandboltstray

blueberrytransfer

peppercornspooning

stpatricksdaypracticallife

capscooping

moosewashing

This post is meant to be inspiring to you. I hope that what you gleamed from these images is just how easy it is to bring these sorts of Practical Life works into your classroom.

Thanks for visiting,
Marnie

About Marnie Craycroft

Marnie hails from Maine where she spent summers buried in sand and winters buried in snow. She is the daughter of a nearly four decade veteran of the public school systems. Teaching has always been a part of her life. She founded Carrots Are Orange in 2010.

Carrots Are Orange is a Montessori learning and living website for parents and teachers.

Marnie graduated from Wesleyan University in 1999 with a BA in Economics. She spent nearly a decade working in investment management. In 2006, she earned her MA in business from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business.

Marnie moved to the west coast in 1999 and currently lives in Boulder with her husband and three sons. She is Montessori trained.
