We love creating out own texture tables! This project was hands on, got us outdoors, a great sensory experience and created a beautiful piece of artwork. The best part is that it was easy AND fun!
My sons and I collected various items in a basket on a walk throughout our neighborhood. We chatted about the various items as we collected them, feeling the textures and taking in the smells.

I taped contact paper on our activity table. My son poured the contents of his basket onto the contact paper.

He created a design, then I placed another piece of contact paper over the design.

Feeling the items through the paper provided a different sensory experience.
The result is a fantastic texture table and the design looks great!
